Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I write about anything that interests me.

Ford vs Ferrari

I watched this movie, Ford vs Ferrari, in IMAX. I watched it in one of the best movie theatres in the world, Palazzo. I was super stunned by it.

Ford vs Ferrari is a retelling of Ford's entry into racing cars and their victory in Le Mans. It was strongly recommended by some critics I follow and some movie-fanatic colleagues. I am not a motorsports fan. I am not even a fan of driving. But it was a treat to watch. Truly engrossing.

The title doesn't do any justice at all for the movie. Ford junior, called Deuce, decides to build racing car after derided by Enzo Ferrari. Deuce wants to claim his legacy which is shadowed by his legendary father, Henry Ford I. But the movie belongs to the rookie driver and mechanic, Ken Miles played by Christian Bale. Matt Damon plays the role of the racing car company owner but my favourite for Christain Bale.

The executives of Ford are shown as villains. Their bozo act, their scheming and not knowing much about racing are the cliched part for me. It's a minor nitpick in an excellent movie. I was so thrilled by the racing scenes. I am not someone who will ever drive a racing car. But I could feel the breathe, the moisture of sweat and the kick a motorsports fanatic gets in driving in a circuit. I really got transported into that world for a few minutes, which was worth the time and money spent on this.

Highly recommend it.
