Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I write about anything that interests me.

YouTube Premium

YouTube Premium

Even though I am in India, like many millennials of the US, I have cut chord at my home. My wifi connected Samsung TV has the following native apps (in this order).

  • YouTube

  • Prime Video

  • Netflix

  • Hotstar

  • Fire TV

YouTube is my go-to place for catching up with news, following my favourite movie critics and usually catching on interesting suggestions and recommendations.

My only problem was the barrage of ads by marketers who are extremely talented in retargeting. That fucker, Tai Lopez, somehow follows me in all the videos, Facebook and torments me. He talks with his luxury car and some shit, asking me to click on the links. I patiently wait for 10 to 30 seconds for the "Skip Ad" to appear.

I used to love TV commercials when I was a kid. More than the programmes on TV, commercials were interesting. But not on YouTube or Facebook. Oddly, I like the ads on Instagram. They are personalized and quite relevant. I digress.

When YouTube launched its premium in India a week ago, I enrolled in it. I got a three-month trial period and I have started loving it. I can listen to the videos even when the phone is locked. The kicker is they have a family plan, in which for an additional buck, my son is also free from Ryan' Toy Review promos and all others in my family can also enjoy it ad-free.

There is no way Tai Lopez or Jeniffer Lopez troubling me during the start of the video. Frankly, I wouldn't mind the latter Lopez though.
